Best TG4 Audience Share in Last 7 Years
TG4 has seen its best audience share in the last 7 years. The channel had 2.74% share of the audience in May 2021, its previous best was in April 2017 when it achieved 2.67%. RTÉ ONE's Nine News on May 23rd was the most watch programme of the month with 526,100. Meanwhile, RTÉ2's audience has dipped back to 4.5% audience share in May, the channel will expect to gain a large audience over the next few months with its coverage of the GAA championships, Euros 2020 and the Olympic Games. Overall RTÉ held 25% of the audience, while Virgin Media Television had 18%.
TG4 had an audience share of 3%.
RTÉ ONE saw a monthly decrease in audience of 2%, it had an audience share of 19%, down 14% from May last year.
RTÉ2 saw its share decrease 7% from last month, achieving just 4.5% share, it was up by 23% from May 2020.
RTÉ ONE +1 and RTÉjr had 1.07% and 0.44% respectively. RTÉ2 +1 had 0.26% in May.
Virgin Media one's audience share was 11% in May, a drop of 5% from April, and a 1% increase year on year.
Virgin Media TWO has a 4% share, up 8% from last month and up 15% from May 2020.
Meanwhile, Virgin Media THREE was at 3%, down 4% from April but up 100% from May 2020. Virgin Media one +1 had an audience share of 0.34%.
eirSport1 saw its audience increase to 0.21%, while Virgin Media Sport had 0.1%.
English channels had 54% share of the audience in May 2021.
