3,405 Covid Cases Across Ireland in Past Week
The week-ending the 22nd of June saw a total of 3,405 new COVID-19 cases across the Island of Ireland. The HSE and the Department of health announced 2,257 cases. In Northern Ireland 1,148 cases were reported. In total there have been 395,405 COVID cases since the pandemic began in 2020.
Republic of Ireland
The headline figures show a total of 348 new cases as of 12 midnight on the 22nd of June. Overall 4,937 COVID related deaths have been announced.
The HSE have suspended the covid 19 information website due to security breach.
The total number admitted to hospital with COVID-19 was 14,775 cases, a weekly increase of 47.
The weekending the 22nd of June saw a decrease in cases of 60 from the previous week, the total number diagnosed was 2,257 between the 15th and the 22nd of June.
47 people were admitted to hospital during that week, down 7 from the previous week.
Northern Ireland
The Northern Irish Health Department announced 188 cases on the 22nd of June. They reported no COVID related deaths, 2,155 have died in the north since the pandemic began.
The total numbers admitted to hospital since the pandemic began is 9,490.
The weekending the 22nd of June saw an increase in cases of 396 from the previous week, the total number diagnosed was 1,148 between the 16th and the 22nd of June. No deaths were reported for this week, and 11 people were admitted to hospital.
