3,250 Covid Cases Across Ireland in Past Week
The past week has seen a total of 3,250. The 8th of June saw a total of 354 new COVID-19 cases across the Island of Ireland. The HSE and the Department of health announced 259 cases. In Northern Ireland 105 cases were reported. In total there have been 388,931 COVID cases since the pandemic began in 2020.
Republic of Ireland
The headline figures show a total of 259 new cases as of 12 midnight on the 8th of June. Overall 4,937 COVID related deaths have been announced.
The HSE have suspendend the covid 19 information website due to security breach.
The total number admitted to hospital with COVID-19 was 14,674 cases, a daily increase of 7.
The weekending the 8th of June saw a decrease in cases of 170 from the previous week, the total number diagnosed was 2,693 between the 2nd and the 8th of June.
63 people were admitted to hospital during that week, up 4 from the previous week.
Northern Ireland
The Northern Irish Health Department announced 105 cases on the 8th of June. They reported no COVID related deaths, 2,154 have died in the north since the pandemic began.
The total numbers admitted to hospital since the pandemic began is 9,451.
The weekending the 8th of June saw an increase in cases of 90 from the previous week, the total number diagnosed was 557 between the 2nd and the 8th of June. One death was reported for this week, and only 6 people were admitted to hospital.
