3,236 Covid Cases Across Ireland

A total of 3,236 COVID-19 cases were detected across the Island of Ireland. The HSE and the Department of health announced 2,371. In Northern Ireland 865 cases were detected. 283,495 COVID cases have been detected since the pandemic began in 2020.


Republic of Ireland

The headline figures show a total of 2,371 new cases as of 12 midnight on the 21st of January, with 52 deaths reported. Overall 2,870 COVID related deaths have been announced.

The HSE and Department of Health announced full hospital figures for January 20th. The total number admitted to hospital with COVID-19 was 9,923 cases, UP 191 from the previous day.

A total of 391 Health Care Workers were diagnosed with COVID-19 on January 20th. A total of 21,833 health care workers contracted COVID-19 since the begging of the pandemic in 2020.

Northern Ireland

The Northern Irish Health Department announced 865 cases. They report 12 COVID related deaths, 1,704 have died in the north since the pandemic began.

34 people were admitted to hospital on the 21st of January. The total numbers admitted to hospital since the pandemic began is 7,395.
