JDIFF 2015 Line Up Announced

The 2015 Jameson Dublin International Film Festival (JDIFF) launched its programme of events on Wednesday (25/02/2015). The line-up includes a host of international stars including Kenneth Branagh, Alan Rickman, Ryan O’Neal, Julie Andrews, Russell Crowe, Kim Cattrall, Danny Huston, Jan Harlan, Jack Reynor, Robbie Sheehan, Orla Brady and Vincent Perez.Festival Director Gráinne Humphreys says the festival will bring the world to Dublin for 11 days with over 38 countries repesented through film. The festival takes place between the 19th and 29th of March 2015. This is the 13th year of JDIFF.

The Festival boast 130 films, 60 big name film industry speakers and 3 actor turned directors will feature their films at the event. Kenneth Branagh will screen his fairytale masterpiece Cinderella; Alan Rickman will showcase his picturesque period film A Little Chaos and Russell Crowe will be back in Dublin for his directorial debut The Water Diviner.

This festival belongs to our audiences who come in such great numbers, we have expanded the programme to accommodate new venues and screenings, each year we relish the challenge to excite, educate and entertain the best cinema audiences in the world”

A collection of award winning directors will be also in attendence at the Festival, Carol Morley (The Falling), Pat Murphy (Tana Bana), Gerard Barrett (Glassland), Pedro Costa (Horse Money), Nils Malmros (Sorrow and Joy) as well as industry events with Mark Cousins (Seeking the Truth: Mark Cousins In Conversation) and Angeli MacFarlane (Conquering The Script) and casting mavens Leo Davis (Layer Cake,The Constant Gardener) and Margery Simkin (Top Gun, Erin Brockovich).

The Volta Award will be presented to Kenneth Branagh and Julie Andrews, an award created by the Festival to celebrate individuals who have made a significant contribution to the world of film. Named after the famous dublin cinema named the Volta established by James Joyce.

The screwball comedy What's Up Doc? will be presented by Hollowed actor Ryan O'Neal. Ryan will also be joined by Barry Lyndon producer Jan Harlan for a special 40th anniversary screening at the Savoy Cinema on March 21st, film in Ireland Kubrick's use of light revolutionised cinematograhpy.
