Marvel's Daredevil Announced

Charlie Cox has been cast as Matt Murdock (AKA Daredevil) in the Marvel produced TV series for Netflix. The show is set to premier on Netflix in 2015. The character was previously played by Ben Affleck in the 2003 movie. The series is part of a set of programmes to be produced by Marvel Television and ABC Studios for Netflix.

Daredevil follows the story of Matt Murdock who was blinded by a radioactive substance as a child, however his other senses are amplified. His father takes care of the young Matt, is income his largely from a slow boxing career. When he refuses to throw a fight he is killed. Matt takes on the persona of Daredevil "The Man Without Fear" to seek revenge on the death of his father.

The Daredevil series is part of a group of 4 series that will result in a mini-series based on The Defenders. Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Ironfist and Luke Cage will each get their own series before a mini-series, which will bring them together as The Defenders.
