Mary Curtis Announced as Head of UTV Ireland

UTV have announced Mary Curtis as the Head of UTV Ireland. She will be responsible for the overseeing of content and the development of the new service. UTV Ireland is expected to launch in January 2015. The signed a broadcasting contract with the Broadcasting Authority of Ireland (BAI) in February 2014

Mary Curtis was head of Saorview in RTÉ until September 2013, when she left to set up her own advice and consultancy services. She led the Saorview Digital Switch Over campaign and the Saorview marketing campaigns.

She also held the role of Deputy Director of Programming at RTÉ Television.

Ms. Curtis was also a member of the Board of RTÉ directors and oversaw the strategic review of RTÉ's full portfolio of services in 2013.

Ms Curtis said: "I'm delighted to be part of this new chapter in Irish television.

"I look forward to working with the senior management team to deliver a compelling new viewing experience for the audience with UTV Ireland."
