Moncrieff Returns to TV Screens

Sean Moncrieff is to return to TV Screens as a quiz show host on TV3. Crossfire is the latest quiz show format from TV3. TV3 have reported that they are delighted with the reception of their current quiz-show The Lie, which saw an average audience of 200,000 viewers. Both shows air on the channel at 8pm Monday and Friday each week, Crossfire will take over from The Lie when it finishes its run in March.

 

Sean Moncrieff first appeared on The End on RTÉ Two (then Network 2) in the early 1990s, in the mid-1990s he was given his own summer-time chat show on RTÉ One called Good Grief, Moncrieff, he would later take on the role of host of RTÉ's panel show Don't Feed The Gondolas. Since 2000 he has been on and off TV screens, and in 2003 he began hosting Moncrieff on NewsTalk.

The TV3 Sony HD Studio has been busy with productions over the last few months with the production of both Keith Barry:Brain Hacker and The Lie. Vincent Browne is set to take to the studio with his new current affairs show The People's Debate, which will broadcast live on TV3 each Wednesday.

Crossfire is a co-production between 3Studios and Gong Media. 20 half hour episodes are to be produced with host Sean Moncrieff saying "We’ve just started filming and there’ll be three shows a day over two weeks so it’s pretty intense.", while its a busy schedule he also states he really likes the format saying "This is a game show I’d genuinely love to play and I know viewers will be at home shouting out the answers at the TV."

TV3 are aiming to use 3Studios to demonstrate TV3's commitment to home production and to positioning itself as a producer of large scale entertainment programmes fit for international sales. TV3 will be at the Irish stall at this years MIPCOM showcase in Cannes. TV3 are currently in talks with other partners about new entertainment shows that they want to take to production.

International broadcasters are noticing the output from 3Studios and I very much look forward to showcasing our 3Studios productions and co-productions at MIP in April.”

Crossfire premières on Friday 28th of March 2013 at 8pm on TV3.
