Stanley Tucci Joins JDIFF 2014 Line Up

Stanley Tucci is to be honoured at the Jameson Dublin International Film Festival 2014 with a Volta Award. The Oscar nominated actor will also attend a public interview at the Light House Cinema on Saturday February 15th at 2pm. Tucci is known for his many roles in film, TV and theatre.

In 2008 he gain acclaim for his role in The Lovely Bones, receiving numerous nominations. He has starred in The Devil Wears Prada; The Hunger Games; Julie & Julia and Road to Perdition. In 1996 he received the Waldo Salt Screen writing Award at the Sundance Film Festival for his screen writing debut Big Night. He co-direct Big Night and went on to direct Blind Date and the slapstick comedy The Impostors.

He has worked on many iconic TV series such as ER and Monk for which he received Emmy nominations in 2007 and 2008. He receive a Tony award nomination for his role in the stage play "Frankie & Johnny in the Claire de Lune".

The Volta award is given to people who have make a significant contribution to the world of film, the award is named after Ireland's first dedicated cinema the Volta Picture Theatre, which was established by James Joyce.
