Clare County Museum host Fenniman Exhibition

Local artist Gerard Fenniman is to have an Exhibition of his work in the Clare County Museum from the 14/01/2014 to 31/01/2014. The artist was born in New York but grew up in County Clare, he attended the Limerick School of Art and Design. He move to London in the 1990s and return to Ireland in 2008 after a period in New York. He uses wood as his main material exploring concepts through his woodworking process.

The central piece at the exhibition relates to an inscription on penal crosses, which depicts the return of Judas Iscariot home to his wife after his betrayal of Jesus, he tell her of his plans to commit suicide as he cannot face Jesus when he is risen from the dead. His wife tells him that that is as likely as the rooster she is cooking rising from the dead, at which point the rooster rises from the pot.

The exhibition will also be on display in Scariff library in February.
