Thurles: Aggravated Burglary

Gardaí in Co. Tipperary are investigating an aggravated burglary at a house in Killenaule, Thurles. The incident occurred in the early hours of the morning (21/11/2013). A family of five were at home at the time when it is believed that up to seven men entered their home.


Two of the men left in the family's 4X4 vehicle, the rest left the scene in another vehicle. Along with the car, cash and jewellery were stolen.

A vehicle was stop at 04:30 near Nass, Co. Kildare. Five men were arrested and are being detained at various Garda stations in Co. Kildare. All five men are reported to be in their 20s.

At around 9am this morning a 4X4 vehicle was stop by Gardaí in Newlands Cross in Clondalkin. Gardaí believe that this is the family's vehicle. Two men have been arrested.
