Donegal Drugs Seizure

Two men have been arrested in Ballyshannon, Co. Donegal after gardaí seized drugs worth €115,000. The two men, in their 50s, are being detained at Ballyshannon Garda Station. The seizure of drugs were made by members of the Revenue Customs Services and the Garda Regional Support Unit.

The raid on a house in Bundoran, Co. Dongal by Gardaí and custom officials, found a quantity of Methylone. Methylone was originally patented in 1996 as an anti-depressant. The drug was banned by former Minister of Health Mary Harney after the growth in sales of so-called "legal highs" around Ireland in 2010.

Official are continuing their investigation into the appearance of these drugs in Co. Donegal.
