Tánaiste Condemn Beirut Terrorist Attack
The Tánaiste, Eamon Gilmore T.D., has condemn terrorist attacks in Beirut that happen yesterday morning (Tuesday, 19/11/2013). He extended his sympathies to the families of those killed in the attack. Ireland remains committed to peace in the Lebanon through its contribution to the UNIFIL peace-keeping mission.
The Tánaiste said "I unreservedly condemn the terrorist attack which took place in Beirut this morning. The loss of life suffered in this appalling act is unacceptable."
The Iranian Embassy was bombed on Tuesday morning causing the deaths of 23 people.
Meanwhile Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister for Arab-African Affairs Hossein Amir-Abdollahian has arrived in Beirut were he will meet with Lebanese officials and victims of the blast. He will also visit the scene of the blast.
