€500,000 Worth of Cannabis Seized in Co. Leitrim

Gardaí have seized Cannabis worth an estimated street value of €490,000 as part of an on-going investigation in Co. Leitrim. Gardaí from the Divisional Drugs Unit attached to Carrick-on-Shannon searched two premises in the County on Monday (4/2/12).

A house in Kilclare and premises in Aughamore were targeted by the Gardaí.

A 44 year-old male was arrested in Kilclare, where €240,000 worth of Cannabis was seized on Monday (4/2/12) afternoon, while a 41 year-old man was arrested at the premises in Aughamore, were a futher €250,000 worth of cannabis was seized.

Both men are being held at Carrick-on-Shannon Garda Station under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996.
