Traffic and Weather Warnings

An Garda Síochána have asked for motorist to slow down and allow for extra time for any journeys that they may make on the roads on the 25th and 26th of April. This warning comes as Met Éireann issued weather warning for both days.

Challenging driving conditions are expected over the next two to three days with the possibility of localized flooding. It is asked that motorists reduce their speed.

Met Éireann have warned that 20 to 35 mm of rain will occur in the East and South of the country and it is expecting further 25mm of rain in some Eastern Coastal areas on Wednesday Night and Thursday Morning.

AA Roadwatch have advised motors to drive with extreme care with reports from Motorists advising them of poor visibility on the M7/N7 Limerick/Dublin Rd between Naas and Dublin.

The AA advises that there will be large areas of standing water on the roads and to avoid such water on roads. AA Roadwatch advises "If you have to drive through standing water, drive through the centre of the road, at it’s highest point. Once you start driving through the water, keep going. Do not take your foot off the accelerator as water may get into your exhaust."
