Clonakilty Avian Flu Restriction Removed

The Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine has confirmed that it has lifted the restrictions in the 1km zone an outbreak of low pathogenic avian influenza (LPAI) H5N2 in pheasants at a farm in Clonakilty, Co. Cork.

Samples taken recently from poultry at a business in the 1km restricted zone return negative for the virus and no new outbreaks of the virus have been record. All restrictions have been lifted.

Bio-security remains an important part of the Agricultural sector. The Department remains everyone in the sector that continued vigilance and good practice is of major importance to the agricultural sector.
