Consultant Talks

The Minister for Health, Dr. James Reilly, T.D., has welcomed the entry of Hospital consultants at the Labour Relations Commission. The Minister had expressed his concerns that serious talks were not taking place at the LRC. The Secretary General of the Department of Health, Dr. Ambrose McLoughlin and the Director General designate of the HSE, Mr. Tony O'Brien, met with senior figures from the Irish Hospitals Consultants Association (IHCA) have since agreed to enter talks with the LRC with a deadline for an agreement.

The IHCA, IMO, the HSE and the Department of Health and the Department of Public Expenditure and Reform will have talks in the LRC with a view to concluding discussions on Sunday (16/09/12).
