This Autumn On RTÉ One

RTÉ have announced their new season on RTÉ One. Failing to give any real mention to their other channels. The new season covers Arts, Factual, Lifestyle, Entertainment, News, Drama, Current Affairs, Sports and Young Peoples. RTÉ announced the new season today (08/08/2012).

Arts

RTÉ One's Arts programming includes explorations in cinema with See You at the Pictures, exploring the relation between people and cinema going, and From Hell's Kitchen to Hollywood, exploring the Irish-Americans in Hollywood.

The Missing Bones of W.B. Yeats investigates the bones that claim to be those of W.B. Yeats.

A Grand Experience Irish artists explore Ireland's Midlands

The Works returns to explore the world of art with news, reviews and interviews.

Drama

Lacking in Drama RTÉ One returns to old favourites. Their hard hitting drama Love/Hate returns for a 3rd season, while the light and frothy Raw returns for its 5th season. Fair City enters its 24th season on air.

Factual

RTÉ will explore the educational sector in special Back to School Week. Inside the Department is a behind the scenes fly-on-the-wall documentary in the Department of Education and Skills. Former Governor of Mountjoy John Lonergan takes a look at the link between Education and imprisonment in Primary Principles. In Wexford the busy day at a primary school is explored in Scoil Mhuire, while Bullyproof explores bullies at school and their effects on young people.

Ireland's Search and Rescue and Firefighters look at Ireland's front-line in emergencies.

What's an RTÉ launch without a former member of the PDs? Former Tainiste Michael McDowell looks at the events of an ambush during the civil war in A Man Young and Old.

Obesity Clinic takes a look at Ireland's only clinic for the obese (no former PDs involved).

Apartment Kids takes a look at Ireland's children who are now living more and more in apartment instead of the traditional house.

Returning Factual series include The Secret Millionaires and What's Ireland Eating?.

Lifestyle

Strictly Am-Dram explores Ireland's amature dramatic scene. Getaway is a new holiday show replacing No Frontiers.

The Movie Show returns after a 15 year break.

RTÉ will cover the 2013 Gathering with The Gathering.

Returning series included At Your Service, Room To Improve, Operation Transformation, Feargal Quinn's Retail Thearpy, Off the Rails, Kitchen Hero, Neven Maguire: Home Chef, Rachel Allen's Cake Diaries.

Entertainment

Barry Murphy will provide laughs in Irish Pictorial Weekly. Hector Returns to RTÉ One in Hector Goes... (away?). Zig and Zag return with Superbloopers.

A look at Irish culture and attitudes in It's an Irish Thing.

Returning series include Celebrity Bainisteoir, The Saturday Night Show, Winning Streak, The Voice, Mrs. Brown's Boys and The Late Late Show.

Movies on RTÉ One

You'd expect big movies to be in HD. RTÉ One will air Alice in Wonderland, Tangled, Up, Ironman 2, Date Night, It's Complicated, Knight and Day, The Blindside, Inception and Avatar all in crystal clear SD.

TRTÉ (Young People's)

TRTÉ goes on the hunt for Ireland's next top dancer in Pump up my Dance, Ireland's next soccer star in Football's Next Star and Irish Dreams in OMG! Jedward's Dream Factory.

Returning series include Watch Your Language and Elev8.

RTÉ Jr

RTÉjr returns with new episodes of Hubble, and Irish animation I'm a Creepy Crawley and Joe and Jack. While an explosive new series explores the Secret Life of Family Pets.

RTÉ Two

Sport returns to RTÉ Two. And also a raft of US programming all in HD.
