CSO - Drop In Residential Property Prices

The Central Statistic Office (CSO) Ireland latest Residential Property Price Index shows a decrease of 16.4% in residential property prices in the year to April. The annual rate of decline is at 16.3% in March, while the rate of decline in April 2011 was 12.2%.

During April residential property prices saw a decline of 1.1%. March recorded no chance in property prices. 1% was recorded in April 2011.

However, Dublin saw a rise in residential property prices of 0.5% in April, but prices are 17.3% lower than April 2011. Apartment prices in Dublin were 15.3% lower than April 2011.

The rest of the country saw a fall in price of 2%, with prices 16.1% lower than in April 2011.

Since 2007 house prices in Dublin have seen a drop of 55%, apartments have seen a 60% decline. This is a drop of 57% since the height of the property Boom in February 2007. The rest of Ireland see a drop of 47% since February 2007.
