TV3 holds its own in April

TV3 have held on to much of their audience following March's Six Nations and Ireland's Got Talent, with an 18% share of the audience across all Virgin Media channels, this compares to a March figure of 19%. RTÉ saw a 4% drop in audience from March with the exiting of Striking Out, Room to Improve and DWTS. Overall RTÉ Channels had 25% share of the audience compared to 24% in March.

RTÉ ONE remains the countries most watched channel with 17.99% of the TV audience, a drop of 8% from March and a drop of 4% from April last year.

RTÉ2 remains low with just 5.19% of the audience, an increase of 11% from March and a 13% increase from April 2017.

Across RTÉ's four TV stations RTÉ had an audience share of 24.77% a drop of 4% month-on-month and a drop of 1% year-on-year.

TV3 must be delighted with April's figures as the major TV3 juggernauts of the season finished up in March. TV3 had 12.45% a drop of 11% from March but a year-on-year increase of 19%.

Sister channels 3e and be3 also saw increases in April. 3e was up 3% to 2.59% from March and up 2% from April 2017. be3 nearly equalled 3e's audience with 2.52%, a month-on-month increase of 18% and a year-on-year increase of 13%.

Overall Virgin Media's suite of channels had an audience share of 17.96% a drop of 6% month-on-month and an increase of 14% year-on-year.

TG4 had an audience share of 2.09% in April, while eirSport1 had an audience of just 0.13%.
