6 Nations and Ireland's Grand Slam was a boon to TV3, in March TV3 had 13.96% of the audience just 5% points off RTÉ ONE which retained 19.56% of the audience. TV3's Ireland's Got Talent hasn't massively increased audiences for TV3 but it is often helped by 6 nation matches. Month on month RTÉ saw a 1% decrease across all channels, while TV3 no change from its February audience. Overall Irish TV channels had a 47.12% share of the audience with the rest tuning to English based channels in March.

As to be expected RTÉ ONE's Dancing With The Stars remains an important part of RTÉ ONE's schedule, it delivered for RTÉ last year and while down this year it has helped to retain RTÉ ONE's audience share. RTÉ ONE retained 19.56% of the audience, but saw a 3% drop from this time last year, during the first run of DWTS.

With the loss of 6 nations to TV3 RTÉ2 saw a yearly drop of 30%, with a decrease of 10% from Feburary. RTÉ2 had a audience of 4.6% in March. With The Young Offenders continuing to bring in audiences.

Overall RTÉ had an audience share of 25.87%, a decrease of 1% from February and a decrease of 9% from this time last year.

TV3 continued to retain last months audience with its exclusive rights to the 6 nations. It was up 3% from February and up by 28% from this time last year, TV3 had an audience share of 13.96%.

TV3's 3e channel was down 25% from last month and 6% from last year getting an audience share of 2.51%. be3 was down 7% from last year and down 10% from last month. be3 had an audience share of 2.13%

Overall TV3 had 19.02% share of the audience a 16% increase from 2017 and no change from February.

TG4 had 2.13%, up 16% month on month and no change year on year.

eirSport1 had 0.1% share of the audience.

In the first quarter of the year Irish TV channel saw no change to their audience share with RTÉ getting 25.74% a drop of 9% from last year, and TV3 getting 18.37% an increase of 15%.
