Republic Karen Handel Takes Congress Seat

Democrat Jon Ossoff was unable to take a much need seat in congress from the Republicans. Karen Handel took the seat to the detriment of the Democratic party, as it seeks a win following the presidential election.

Ms. Handel took 51.9% of the vote to Mr. Ossoff's 48.1% following a run off special election.

The runoff was called when Mr. Ossoff failed to reach more than 50% of the vote. Ms. Handel received just 19.77% of the vote but with 11 republic following her, with 31.23% of the vote, it allowed her to push past the 50% mark in the run off election on May 20th.

The Republic party have 238 seats with the Democratic party taking 193.
