no confidenceTánaiste Leo Varadkar Survices Confidence Motion
Wednesday November 11, 2020

An Tánaiste, Leo Varadkar, TD, has survived a motion of no confidence. The motion was taken against the Tánaiste by Sinn Féin, following a report in The Village magazine that showed Varadkar, as Taoiseach, had leaked documents to the National Association of GPs (NAGP) in April 2019. All three government parties supported the Tánaiste, voting yes in a confidence motion, with 9 independent TDs also voting with government. Sinn Féin was supported in the motion by the Social Democrats, Labour, Solidarity-PBP and 11 independent TDs.
