Sky News is to set up a new Sky News Bureau in Dublin. Darren McCaffrey from Co. Fermanagh, and currently Sky's Political Correspondent, will take on the role of Dublin Correspondent. Sky state that this is to show their commitment to Irish Viewers. Darren will be joined by a dedicated crew to cover Irish breaking news stories as they unfold.

The Jameson Dublin International International Film Festival will run from 13 February to 23 February 2014 across 11 cinema screens around the city. The full line up of events were announce on Monday (20/01/2013). The festival is in its 12 year and will included over 135 films with 16 short films screening, 27 documentaries and 13 must see film galas. 17 new Irish feature length films have also be selected to be screened at this years festival.

artEntries now open for Molly Keane Creative Writing Award 2014

Waterford County Council's Arts Office has announced details of their annual Molly Keane Creative Writing Award. This is the 17th year of the award. The award is aimed at unpublished short stories to a maximum of 2000 words. Closing date for entries is Friday the 14th of March 2014.

artClare County Museum host Fenniman Exhibition

Local artist Gerard Fenniman is to have an Exhibition of his work in the Clare County Museum from the 14th of Jan to 31st of Jan 2014. The artist was born in New York but grew up in County Clare, he attended the Limerick School of Art and Design. He move to London in the 1990s and return to Ireland in 2008 after a period in New York. He uses wood as his main material exploring concepts through his woodworking process.

Offaly County Council have announced their details of their Arts Grant for 2014. Applications are sought by the Council for groups and individuals working in the area of the arts in County Offaly. The projects should be aimed at the community, while also providing professional arts and cultural experiences. Closing date for applications is Friday, 14th February 2014.
