BAI Projects Commence Production

The BAI have announced the commencement of seven project which have received funding from their Sound and Vision Fund. '72 Uair Cinniúnach, Ballyfermot Rocks, The Science Squad, Once Upon a Time in a Kingdom, Full Circle-The Irish Songwriter, Women of Note and BB and Bella. The seven productions received a total €553,200 of funding.

'72 Uair Cinniúnach is a feature length Docu-Drama produced by Tile Films for TG4. It tells of the 72 hours that changed the Easter Rising, the film will be broadcast in 2013. Ballyfermot Rocks is a live programme for West Dublin Access Radio, it will feature live performances from local, unsigned bands. New Decade TV and Film has begun production on The Science Squad for RTÉ, the series will focus on science projects around the country. Radio Kerry is to broadcast a documentary series about Kerry Radio's 21 years on the air, Once Upon a Time in a Kingdom will be presented by Audrey Galvin. Full Circle - The Irish Songwriter is a KCLR radio production focusing on Irish singers and songwriters. Rockfinch limited will produce a series of radio documentaries for Lyric FM about Irish female composers, titled Women of Note. BB agus Bella is a series for pre-schooler, the series is based on the successful Irish Language speaking teddy Babogbaby, it is an Igloo production for TG4.

The Sound and Vision Fund is funded through the TV Licence Fee and administered by the Broadcasting Authority of Ireland (BAI). The fund is worth 7% of the licence fee.
