The Dubliners To Play On in memory of Barney

The Dubliners will play this Friday the 13th of April at the National Concert Hall. The concert will be dedicated to the Barney McKenna, who passed away on Thursday the 5th of April. The concert is part of the One Book One City event, which celebrates James Joyce's novel Dubliners. The band was named after the novel.

The concert Celebrating Dubliners will also include performances from Noel O'Grady, David McSavage, Karl Shiels and it will be hosted by Bláthnaid NI Chofaigh.

Friend of the group and fellow performer Noel O’Grady said, “The Dubliners, though shocked at Barney’s sudden death, are keen to honour their commitment to Dublin City Libraries. Barney, well read as well as well loved, would want that, and no doubt his stories and unique take on life will feature centrally throughout the evening’s entertainment”.
