Vodafone Comedy Festival Kicks Off Today
The Ivegh Garden's are set for a "belly of laughs" in Dublin's city centre as comedians from around the world descend on the annual event. In all 65 Irish and international acts will perform at the festival. The festival starts today and runs until Sunday (29/07/2012). Vodafone in association with The Science Gallery, Trinity School of Psychology and Dublin City of Science ran a survey since the start of they year, which showed that most Irish people gave themselves 7 out of 10 or above in terms of happiness, though many also replied saying that the question was design to bring them back to when they were happier! (No they didn't).
The sun is out today so hopefully for the rest of the festival it will stay out, and avoid the heavy rains that Dublin has seen in the last few days. The festival will also have performance from street artists and great food.
Robert Hyland, Vodafone Sponsorship Manager, said, “This year’s festival goes above and beyond anything comedy fans have seen in Ireland. Aiken Promotions have delivered a fantastic line up of incredible national and international artists and we really are set to have a great laugh.”
