New Structures at BSÉ/IFB

Bord Scannán na hÉireann/the Irish Film Board (BSÉ/IFB) are to change the way they approach the decision making structures in the agency.

The roles of Production Executives (2) and Development Executive (1) are to end once the current contract expire on a phased basis until the beginning of next year.

These roles will be replaced by three Project Managers. Project Managers will manage projects across all genres from the initial concept stage to the project launch onto the market.

The IFB/BSÉ hope that the new structure will provide multiple access points for applicants, allowing them to approach any one of the Project Managers with a development or production application.

The Project Managers will be based in Dublin (2) and Galway (1).

The IFB/BSÉ hope that these new arrangements will enhance the development and production processes. Providing greater support for all creative talent involved in the project and a focus on audience throughout the process.

James Hickey, Chief Executive of Bord Scannán na hÉireann/the Irish Film Board said "I believe that the new structure will provide applicants with access to a broadly experienced creative team. A member of the team will assist applicants in taking their project from the first stage of development to full scale production and distribution of the film with a focus on delivering high quality projects with strong Irish creative talent behind them and a focus on audiences both local and international".
